"Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand

I just finished the book by Laura Hillenbrand, Unbroken. This powerful story of a military World War II bombardier, plainly illustrated the cycle of the healing for someone who has experienced Post Traumatic Syndrome. I was so impressed by Hillenbrand's insight, breathe of knowledge, and ability to lead the reader through the healing process without staging or pushing. It was brilliantly written. Stories of survival from abuse of any kind start first with the revelation of the acts of abuse and how the victim innitially responses. Healing from abuse is quite tricky and not for the faint of heart. The resentment, anger and vengeful spirit that is cultivated by the victim can only be tempered by God. It is a humbling insight to see God's hand in molding people from this all too common life malady or the distructive influence that can be adopted by those who choose to harbor their wounds and offenses taken.
